POSADA LA VIEJA

POSADA LA VIEJA

We leave early in the morning, driving about two hours into Panama's interior, by way of the Bridge of the Americas, en route to the El Caņo Archaeological Park, in Cocle province.

There we will visit burial mounds with royal tombs and pre-Columbian sculpted stone pillars. We'll also visit a typical indigenous hut where we will be able to examine the tools that were used when the first Spaniards arrived. From there we will go to the Posada La Vieja, the Old Lodge, for lunch. Our next stop will we La Taviada waterfall and the nearby rock caves.

The visit to Posada La Vieja also gives you the opportunity to visit other places before returning to the city, places like El Valle, where you can go to the open-air indigenous market (open only on Sundays) and the El Nispero zoo.
